Teenage Empowerment Project

It became evident in 2007 that Lungisani
Indlela needed to be pro-active and assist
in the prevention of HIV/AIDS and teenage
pregnancies. Our TEP team works in
several high schools in and around
Amaoti giving Christian based life skills
lessons and counselling teenagers.
Currently 600 teenagers are impacted by
this programme. ‘

Our team of dedicated youth workers teaches lessons in three different schools on subjects such as self-worth, life planning, relationships, HIV/AIDS, pregnancy, etc. Many of the teenagers open up to our staff and we try to help them with the issues they face at home or at school.

On Friday afternoons around 250
children and teenagers from various
schools in the area, attend our Youth
Club at Peniel Church in Phoenix. Here
the kids are taught biblical principles,
and work in groups to discuss life
issues. Our focus is on developing skills
and talents in young people.
